There’s a bunch of post about the *jet* chip and everyone I’ve read is pretty much negative.

Hi palmettokrawler,

In general, they're not quite as bad as they used to be in some applications, but they simply are not anywhere near the best.

Funny story, just briefly - the Powerdyne supercharger kit for the 2004 & up 5.4 3V F-150 comes with a Jet unit, and in every one we've seen that combination has been less-than-desirable - it prevents the truck from being able to go open loop, and resulted in a total power gain from that supercharger of maybe 30 HP at the rear wheels - not exactly what I'd call a worthwhile result. In fact, we've had a number of customers strip off that supercharger & tuner, and then come to us to purchase the Roush supercharger we offer along with our custom tuning as a package and were much happier with the 120-150 RWHP gains and instant torque at any throttle position.

The bottom line is, the reason you see most people here coming to us for our custom tuning for these trucks is simply because we've specialized in performance tuning these vehicles longer than anyone else, and are well known for generally getting the best results. Though peak HP gains are of course important, what is at least (if not more) important are things like the part-throttle driveability, how the vehicle feels in *any* type of driving condition, etc. It's easy for us to make great raw power gains, but having the best driveability is really the key to the best results - especially in terms of throttle response, drivetrain response times, towing ability, transmission shift characteristics, etc.

If you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, please feel free to give us a cal at our number listed below & bet of luck whatever you decide!
