2001 TP stage 1
2001 TP stage 1
I was just looking under the troyer performance website and noticed that the stage 1 kit includes the superchip microtuner. Is there a stage 1 kit that has the SCT tuner. I looked everywhere and couldnt' find one.
thanks
Whoops. btw, I have a 2001 f-150. extended cab short box with a 5.4 and about 58,000 on the ole girl.

Hi Rock Krusher,
Yes, we sure do!
I have to apologize, as our web site shows maybe 2% of everything that we really do & offer.
We have all kinds of Stage kits not shown, and in addition, we do all kinds of custom performance packages for people who already have this or that, or who want to make substitutions, etc. So the hot tip is to just give us a quick call at our number listed below & we'll be more than happy to go over that with you and make sure you get your performance package exactly they way you want it. And I agree, going with our custom tuning is by far the preferable choice.
You can send emails too (sales@troyerperformance.com), but email will take significantly longer due to our heavy email load - it could take a week to get an answer in email - so calling us is the hot tip.
The bottom line is, we'll do just about anything any way each individual vehicle owner wants it!
Tanks for your post & hope to speak with you soon!

I just called and got a quote. A very nice one at that. For a stage 1 kit.
Mike,
just one question for ya. I'm not sure who I talked to but, we did go over low end torque. I told her that I use this truck alot for towing and do not want to lose any low end torque. She recommended the Magnaflow SISO.
Anywho, on to my question. Since I am replacing the exhaust I'm thinking I may go ahead and get a new Y too. Since we all know how bad the factory Y is on the 97-03 trucks. Will this hurt my low end torque any? What kind of impact will this have along with the magnaflow?
Thanks again.

Hi RK,
The Y-intersection is not nearly as bad on the 2004 & up F-150's as it is on the 2001 & earlier trucks. It started getting better in 2002, and is at it's best (from the factory, that is) starting in 2004.
In a 2001 F-150, yes, I do think it's a good idea to replace the Y-intersection, and we can supply that part as well, if you like.
If it were a 2004, I would say just install the Magnaflow SISO and leave it at that until you decide to step up to longtube headers. But given that it's a 201 and the Y-intersection is usually pretty nasty & restricted inside, it's a good idea to get that cleaned up.
