It was very nice meeting those of you that showed up for the Dyno and Tuning Session this weekend. I can now put faces to several names..
I will not attempt to speak for anyone other than myself with regards to results as I am sure that the others that were there will be by eventually to speak for themselves.
I asked Mike to give me the best "driveability" tuning that he could in regards to my driving style and the vehicles usage, without regards to "how much power it could make" ..
My truck is an '04 XLT Supercrew 4x4, 5.4, 3:73 gearing, Trailer towing package, Undercover tonneau , Bedrug, with Auto Springs 2" spacers, and Goodrich 275/75/17's. ( it appears to be lifted but actually only has the front done to level it out. It weighs in at a little over 6350 #'s.
The truck made 250 hp/ 300 Lb.ft at the rear wheels which I find to be very pleasing considering there is more power to be had should I have Mike tune for it. I have a very safe A/F at 12.0-1 straight across the board.
I might add that on the commute down from Ohio to Virginia via the West virginia Turnpike that the truck averaged 18.40 MPG !!!This was at a constant 65 mph on the cruise. On the way home I averaged 18.75 MPG with my foot in it averaging 75-85 miles per hour.....In the mountains...
The truck I drove home is far superior to the truck I drove down...
Thanks to all that attended and a special thanks to Mike and Anita not only for the outstanding tuning, but for their way of making "EVERYONE" they come in contact with feel like part of their family....
Oh yea, almost forgot, their was NO comparison between the Superchips 1700 series boxed tunes and Mikes Custon X-Calibrator tunes.....He blew them away on a level playing field.....

"The truck made 250 hp/ 300 Lb.ft at the rear wheels "

Was that before, or after the tune?

Give us the before and after numbers along with the tunes you got.

Oh yeah and this......"Oh yea, almost forgot, their was NO comparison between the Superchips 1700 series boxed tunes and Mikes Custon X-Calibrator tunes.....He blew them away on a level playing field..... "

Numbers along with vehicle specs, please.

Thanks.

Joey

Before any tuning in its stock form I only made 210 HP @ the wheels.
The tune is my 93 trailer towing tune..There is still more power to be made here should I decide that I need it..As I originally stated, I was not interested in seeing how much power I could make, I was more interested in the trucks driving characteristics, its shift points, part throttle responsiveness, and etc..Which I am very pleased with...

I can not give you the comparison numbers as I don't believe it is my privledge to do so. Those should, and more than likely will come from the originator...

Hey Marc, Just wanted to say thanks for putting on my airforce one, man that took a whole 2 hours plus had to file out the air sensor, and the noise it makes now man does it suck. JUST KIDDING. MARC PUT THAT THING ON IN LESS THEN 15MINS WITH NO PROBLEMS. ALSO THE SOUND IS AWESOME.
After mike tuned my truck, and that airforce one on it, man the difference between stock and the tune is night and day. Its totally amazing. My wife threaten me ,after I took it for a little test drive after marc put on the af1, to slow down or she will take everything off. That's how easy the af1 is to put on my wife watched marc do it and she can take it off and install it again. Anybody thinking of getting an excal 2 do not hesitate. It is definetly worth the wait. I'm totally amazed at the acceleration, and throttle response. My truck now can lay some rubber from a stand still. Now when someone heres the duals and says light them up, I can do it, before i had mike tune it I could'nt break the tires loose at all. Yesterday I was showing off and hammered it around a turn and man did it break loose all right, I almost did a 360, which was very unexpected cause it never broke loose at all before. Just wanted to say thanks again Marc for installing the af1 and thanks Mike for the tune. Oh and by the way that's with the 93 towing tune, so I can just imagine what the performance tune would do.
Oh by the way Marc where did u get your spacer again, I forgot what website that was. Can u send me a pic of your truck. I was telling my buddys how awesome it looks and they can't believe that's all you did was the spacer. My email is shawnstru@direcway.com Thanks.

Thanks SKI. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife. I will be glad to email you a pic or two but it will be later this week as I am just getting back to work after the 5 weeks off and have a lot to catch up on.
Glad you like the newly found power. Take it easy on the tires.. Are you sure you don't want to drive the truck on that trip you will be taking this week? I surely wouldn't leave it behind with the wife

The company you are looking for is Auto Springs. They are in Boise Idaho. I can not remember the website off the top of my head but you can find it if you search the internet.
Good luck with the trip and I will send the pics later this week....

Marc

No, there were 5 trucks that showed up. Had a great time. Just need to figure out if I have a bad plug now or a bad coil pack. Truck ran really bad home after I left on Sunday. I hope its just a coil pack.

I remember you throwing the code for the coil pack right before you left Rich, but I was hoping everything would straighten out. There is a way to test them but right off the top of my head I can not remember what it is.
