Question for Mike

Mike,

I am new on this forum, and have been checking old post and your web site, and have some questions for you.

1. I have a 2002 supercrew 5.4L with 55000 miles on it already. Is it worth it for me to do mods(current mod is K&N FIPK and MagnaFlow catback system), since I have that much miles on it. If I could do some mods, how crazy could I go. With my truck being 55000 miles and all, how long could I expect my engine to last after the mods.

2. On your site you mentioned your company will do a turn key tune on the performance packages. How much extra is it, how long is the waiting list, and how long I have to leave my truck at your place. I live in Illinois, and if I have you tune my truck I was just going to stay at VA then drive by to IL.

3. Since I already have the intake and exhaust, will my package be a little cheaper?

Thank you,

Roland

Your best bet would be give mike a call, for one thing he can't discuss price on the forum, and then there is alot, a whole lot yall will need to go over, trust me it will be worth the time to pick up the phone and call him. He is having a dyno weekend so you may not beable to get in touch with him until Monday, but you will like the results

Thank you sport.

I won't be able to call Mike till later this month anyway. I'll try him in the next week or so.

In the members' oppinion. Is it worth going all out on a 2002 supercrew 5.4? I am not going to drag, it's mostly a daily driver, but just like any guys on this forum, the more the power the more the fun.

Thank you,

Roland

Everyone that has their daily driver done like that seem to like it. I have a 4.6L and I'm getting them done.

As mentioned, I already have a K&N and Magnaflow, what else should I do. Any advice would help greatly. I originally though about the stage 5 package, that's the reason I asked the question if it's worth the work on a 55000 mile engine. After some more research it seems like the stage 5 will only work on 91 or higher octane gas, so I have a few things to consider about, i.e. availability of 91 or higher gas in my area, if it'll harm my engine, what is the life expectency of the engine after mod under normal driving condition, or is it an overkill all together?

So, much to do and consider. How do you guys figure out what you wanted.

Roland

Again, I would call Mike, he won't pressure you into buying anything you don't want and will walk you through everything that will suit your needs. And just for reference you don't need to speak with Mike personally, his whole staff at TP are very knowledgeable. I would go ahead and call them on Monday even if you can't buy until later, they will walk you through a bunch of different options to think about. Hope this helps

Hi Roland,

At 55K miles, you're ONLY about 25% thru your engine's normal service life - which should be about 200K miles with simple 3000 mile routine oil changes.

Doing intelligent mods, even a supercharger at reasonable boost levels, is not going to decrease the service life of that engine - so you can go MUCH farther than you have gone - right now all you have is an intake kit and an exhaust. Spend some time reading on our web site at www.TroyerPerformance.com and take a look at our various Stage packages, down at the bottom of the Products page, and that will give you an idea of what our Stage 1 thru Stage 5 packages can do for that vehicle. Trust me, we can easily add many times more power than you have already added, and still have a reliable vehicle.

The very first thing I would do is to have us provide a good custom tune, as that alone will add more power & performance than anything else for the same or less cost. Which is why you see most people here starting off with our tuning.

You'll really need to give us a call to go over this in proper detail - our number is listed just below, so give us a call & we'll be happy to go over all o this with you in proper detail!

Thanks for your post & talk to you soon!

Thanks Mike,

I will try to call you this week or next, I am pretty busy with work right now(not as busy as you and Anita with the dyno weekend of course ). In any case it sounds like you had a great weekend, and I will talk to you on the phone soon.

Sincerely Yours,

Roland
