1714 Installed in F-250, V-10

Just had to say that I just installed the 87-Performance tune from the SC 1714 in my "bone stock" 2004 F-250, V-10.

Used the default tune from Superchips. It's not a racing machine but it seems to have made a lot of difference. Still can't compare with my F-150 with SC 9100 custom tunes, but what the heck.

Hi Bob,

I hear you - the 1714 does a decent job on the V-10's, it's the best of the "standard" types of tuners.
If you ever decide to go with custom tuning for that V-10, we cna darn newer double the power gain from that 1714 - sorry, I couldn't resist!

All kidding aside, glad to hear you're enjoying the 1714 for your V-10, & have fun!

Hi Mike.

Thanks for your reply. By the way, I just sent in an order for the Air Force One for the F-150.

Gave up on the super charger last year, but like the looks of the Air Force One.
I know it will never give me the kick in the butt the ProCharger did but the ProCharger was driving me nuts.

Hi Bob,

Yeah, I really hated seeing you give up on that Procharger - there is a positive displacement alternative to those blowers that works a lot better - that is, *if* you ever decide to go down the forced induction route again, I know you have a bad taste in your mouth right now.

It's really a mater of proper datalogging - as long as we have *proper* data we can make the truck rip, & we do that every day here, tuning numerous supercharged trucks that we never see spot-on - it's all in the data. One thing that makes it easier these days is that the XCalibrator 2 can now datalog everything except the A/F ratios.

Congrats on the Air Force One, & best of luck with your vehicles!!!
