Can Mike do the same for the PSD?

So Ive been considering getting rid of the F150 and getting a Superduty PSD, and now that Ive found a nice one at a good price it might become a reality.

Anyway, I was wondering if Mike/you can as good of programming for the diesels as you can for the gas F150's? Using say the 6600 chip.
Are they as indepth-and how much power can you get out of them usually?
(its a 2001 7.3L) Ive seen the one programmer (cant remember the model #) but its the 'Tri Tune" one with different power options, up to 110 HP. I see these about everywhere I look for programming for diesels. Is that about all there is to offer-or can you get more out of them with your custom tuning?

Also, what do you think about that 'tri tune' programmer Mike?
Also-with the tri tune programmer-can you tow on any of those programs, or do you have to put the stock program in to tow?

Thanks a bunch.

I know that even the generic tuners yield a huge performance increase on diesels, far more than you would expect out of a gasser. The main reason being boost. My Dad has an 02 F-350 PSD 6-speed with a Superchips tuner that made a tremendous difference in power. It brought boost levels from stock 18 max to 27 max PSI. The 7.3 is a great motor and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy one if I had the money.

Not only boost but also the fuel delivery is vastly increased with a chip/tuner. Average gains are 60-110hp with generic tuning...not sure if "custom" tuning is the way to go with a diesel. Spend the money on propane injection and an H2 turbo

I was wondering this myself. i have a '97 model 250 with 30,000 miles 2wd auto. It has the complete Banks PowerPack and am looking for more without going propane.

WV mountains usually pull my truck/trailer down to around 55 and would like to stay closer to the 70 mph speed limit. Don't ask how much it weighs 'cause I don't want the DOT to find out lol.

Waiting for Mike or someone else to respond to your ques now

Hi Bartank1 & everyone,

Yes, we *do* provide our custom tuning for the 7.3 & 6.0 Powerstroke diesels, too - absolutely!

The older 7.3's can use the 6600 chip, but if there are any changes that are ever needed, that requires removing the chip and sending it back and forth instead of just being able to email the new files, so just take that into consideration.

Now on the 6.0 PSD's, no, they cannot use a traditional "chip" - they *have* to have the PCM flashed for proper tuning, so that means they need the XCalibrator 2.

So that's the scoop - just give us a call at our number listed below & we'll go over all of that with you!
