Hi Firedude,

For anything you want to sell, please list it for sale in the free F-150 Online Classified Ads - not here on the boards. There is a message reminding everyone of that every time they post a new thread or edit an existing post or post a replay to an existing thread - it's right there at eh top of the screen in bold red type. You'll get far better responses posting it there in the Classified's, there are always people looking for bargains there - good luck with that!

No one solid correct answer is possible to your question, as you do not list anything about exactly which "tuner" unit you are using.

If you are using an "off-the-shelf" tuner such as a Superchips 1715 Micro Tuner, for example, then no, it cannot ever be "reprogrammed" for use on any other type of vehicle - it's not a custom unit, it's a pre-programmed unit that cannot be changed to anything else.

Now if you have the XCalibrator, then yes, that unit *can* be reprogrammed to be used on that 2005 F-150.

The 2004 & newer F-150 uses a completely different PCM than your previous vehicle, and the Superchips tuner that is best applicable to that 2005 F-150 would be the #9400, which is the new XCalibrator 2 if you want the best tuning & the best results (which would actually be loaded with our *custom* tuning).

Or there is also the #1745 Superchips Micro Tuner if you want to go with the least expensive alternative.

By far your best bet is to go with the 9400 with our Troyer Performance *custom* tuning, as that will get you the best power & performance gains, as well as the best overall driveability and transmission functions, etc. And the feature set is amazing, it includes completely high-speed datalogging capabilities, can be programmed for use on *any* 1996 & newer FoMoCo vehicle, has email update capabilities, LCD screen, diagnostic scanner, and much more - it's the hot tip, and you get a special discount on it by being a registered member here by just calling us at our number listed below.

That's really about the best I can tell you without knowing exactly what you're using - we may have discussed your present tuning device before, but there are so many people here that I can't remember who uses what.

I hope that info helps, & feel free to give us a call if you'd like to go over any of this in further detail, etc.

Good luck!

HI firedude,

>>>Sorry for missing the LITTLE red message above here, i never was good at reading, lol<<<

No apology needed at all - it is indeed very small, and I'm not the best at reading myself, truth be told - or writing, so sometimes my written word doesn't really properly convey my frame of mind, etc. My apologies if that came off a bit strong in my response, that wasn't my intention - I just try to remind of a few things from time to time simply so that the Webmaster doesn't have to bother coming here to "police" all the "little stuff" - please forgive me if I offended!

That's a big change going from a huge Excursion SUV to a 2005 F-150 - and that 2003 Excursion was still almost new itself. Hope you did OK on the trade in (if that's what you did) value, etc.

Hope you enjoy your vacation, by the way - have fun & we'll talk to you soon!

Well that is the reason i went to a 150 instead of a 350 like i wanted. I had to eat 3000 on the deal so i can chew it up better in a 2 year lease. I will try and call you later this week about my options.

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

I hear you - with as often as we buy new vehicles here, many times we've lost money big-time from trading in vehicles we've owned for only a short time - no getting around it if you get out of a new vehicle in a short time.

We're trying to keep more of them longer these days for that very reason - normally I would have long about gotten rid of our 2001 Lightning, for example - but with as much $$$ as we've got in it's mods, and just how much fun the darn thing is, we've keep it long enough to pay it off, and picked up a Cobra. Now we're looking at a PSD as we're doing more & more custom tuning for the 7.3 & 6.0 Powerstroke diesels.

It never ends..........

Talk to you soon,
