Superchip Programmer
Superchip Programmer
I am just starting to look into some products for my truck and i want to start with a programmer but what i would like to know is if it willwork on more than one truck, i have my own personal truck and my work truck. Am i going to need to get 2 programmers for these trucks? Both are 05 supercrews 4.6. I want to go further with my personal truck but want to put some kick in the work truck.
thanks
thanks
Welcome aboard sewerat.
To have both trucks running the tune at the same time, you will have to have two programmers. The tuners are VIN locked, so when you load the program into your work truck, it would be locked and not available for use on your personal truck. You could swap back and forth, but you could never have both trucks tuned at the same time if you only buy one tuner (SCT, Xcalibrator etc). Not sure about Diablos, Hypertechs etc, but I would guess they are the same.
Check out Troyer Performance for all your tuning and performance product needs. Mention you are a registered member here and receive a discount on tuning products. We can't discuss numbers here, so call them for addditional details.

It’s definitely one at a time and that’s with a 1745 Superchips “MAX” Micro tuner, not a custom tuned Xcal 1 or 2. It takes about 10 minutes or so to load a tune up, and since you can only drive one truck at a time, it is possible to use a 1745 for both.
When you’re done work, return that truck to stock, hop in your personal ride and install the “MAX” tune. The next morning you reverse the procedure and put the stock tune back on your personal truck and the “MAX” tune on the work truck.

Ok great thanks guys that answered that one for me. Now just to figure out where i am wanting to start for the personal truck limited budget to do this and these new fangdangled trucks, I had a 78 bronco a few years back it was easy to make power in now with all the computerized stuff they limit my abilities without much needed help.
Hi Sewerat,
One thing you could do would be to use the #1745 Superchips Micro Tuner - we can provide that unit to you at a great price since you are a registered member here, and with that device, you can use it on your work truck, then uninstall it and then use it on your personal truck, too - now you can only use it on ONE vehicle at a time, but that device would allow you to have one unit that works on both vehicles and switch back and forth between them.
If you want to have tuning on both trucks at the same time, then yes, you will have to have a separate tuner for each truck - there's no getting around that.
If you want to get the *best* results, then that is had by using our Troyer Performance *custom* tuning loading into the XCalibrator 2 tuner. We can work out a package deal for you so that you can pick up a pair of our XCalibrator 2's so that each vehicle has it's own tuner so both vehicles can have the tuning at the same time, and so that you have the best power & performance gains.
Or, you could pick up just one of our *custom tuning devices, and use it on one of those vehicles, and decide if you like it well enough to have another one for the second vehicle.
SO to sum up - the cheapest route is to go with our #1745 Micro Tuner and you can use it to switch back and for the between those 2 vehicles - one at a time can use the tuning from that same device. Or, to get the best results, go with our *custom* tuning in the XCalibrator 2.
I know this can seem confusing, it's a lot to keep up with - please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & we can go over all of this with you in proper detail, go over your exact costs, etc., so you can give that some thought.
Best of luck whatever you decide, & congratulations on a nice new pair of 2005 F-150's
