Just recieved my XCAL 2 and about to load my custom tunes... I have a 2005 SCAB 5.4L Stock except for intake. Do I need to remove any fuses before I do the load? I read the instructions but just want to double check. Thanks.

No fuses need to be removed. Just make sure everything that draws power is turned off, automatic headlights, amp, radar detector, radio, etc., anything.

Bummer. Sounds like they are running a bit over their three week estimate at the moment.

Looks like I won't get mine before my trip. I'm going to be towing an 8,500 lb recreational double 800 miles. I've been looking forward to seeing how well a Troyer towing tune works.

Oh well. I'll be towing a slightly lighter rig 2,500 miles in September.

Hope you get your soon. That'll be one less in front of mine.

Cool, so no need to disable the fuel pump anymore?

That applies to the 04’s & 05’s only. All previous years still require the fuel pump to be disabled

I'm still waiting on my Xcal too. Faxed the papers in on June 16th and haven't heard squat form TP. I called them last week to confirm that they'd received my paperwork & they had. I'm doing my best to stay patient but it's getting hard as the weeks pass by.

Hey Guys,

1 - you do NOT need to remove fuel pump fuse for 2004 & newer F-150's (new body style) ONLY - if you have a 2003 or earlier F-series (and that includes the 2004 "Heritage" old body style trucks), then you still have to remove the fuel pump fuse.

The only reason you do not have to remove it on the 2004 & up new body style trucks is because there *isn't* a fuse for the fuel pump itself.

Now with ALL vehicles, if you have electric cooling fans for the radiator (either from the factory or aftermarket), you still need to remove the fuse(s) to disable the electric cooling fans from being able to come on during the flashing process on ALL vehicles regardless of model year.

2 - Regarding when each person's tuning will be done...........

We have no idea if your tuning is done already or not by your screen name here - nor is this the place to ask us about that, as everyone can clearly see in the reminder in red type at the top of the screen any time you make a post - if you want to know status, or need Tech Support, call us at our number listed below.

As everyone knows because we have posted this to everyone here before several times, including again just a few days ago - while it's normally about a 7-10 working day time frame from the time we get the CPW's back from each customer **correctly and fully** filled out, until the time we have that person's tuning done and are ready to ship the product, the manufacturer whose hardware & software we use for our custom tuning provided us with an "update" that ended up causing problems that resulted in a few people to have no-starts in 2004/2005 F-150's with the tuning installed - they had to go back to the stock tuning while we worked with the manufacturer to get those problems resolved and tested.

We brought everything to a halt - we literally stopped tuning, so as not to potentially cause anyone else that same problem - and got together with the engineers & techs at SCT to get to the bottom of the cause, get it taken care of and then re-test everything thoroughly before we started sending out any more tunes.

That was completely beyond our control, and had absolutely NOTHING to do with *our* tuning - as everyone knows because we've posted that info here several times. That process added at least another week or so to the tuning time for everyone - now we were also down in Orlando at their facility last week, going over that and some other things with them as well - and that has caused the lead time to be a bit longer than normal, too.

The bottom line is that all of this has really just about doubled the lead time, roughly, and is a temporary situation that we are quickly clearing up, as you can see from the posts here every day form those getting their new tuning in every day - we are almost back to our normal lead time already.

We don't like this temporary added lead time any more than you do, trust me! But we are literally working 7 days a week from the minute we wake up until we collapse in exhaustion well into the night, every single day - and we are clearing up that backlog pretty quickly now. Sometimes these things just happen gang, so please hang in there, you'll have your tunes very soon.

And for the gentleman who made the comment "haven't' heard squat from TP" - you don't hear anything from us until your tuning is done, nor does your credit card get charged until then, either. Without doing some digging I have no idea who you are by your screen name here - but if you'd like to give us a quick call, we'll be more than happy to let you know when you can expect your tuning to ship out - that is, if it's not already done I should say, as by today virtually everyone who had their CPW's in as of June 15th-16th or so is now completed.

So that's the scoop, gang - sometimes the best takes a little longer, and this situation was completely beyond our control. As everyone can clearly see from our customer's posts here, it's well worth it, and we greatly appreciate your patience - as will you when you get your tuning!

Thanks everyone,
