Talking XCal2 is here and yeah...WOW!!

Got my XCal2 from Mike Troyer yesterday and tried out the 93 max performance tune and all I can say is wow!! The truck is much more responsive now off the line (got that power back that I lost after putting on 20" wheels). It shifts firmer now and just feels great all around. Mike's tunes are awesome! Now I can really say that from experience, as opposed to just going by his reputation on the board.

I do need a re-tune though but it is completely my fault, not Mike's. I had told him that we have 93 octane here which we do, however what I didn't know is that it has 10% Ethanol in it and according to Mike, it MAY cause slight pinging at WOT. So to be safe I am going to get a re-tune on 1 program for 91 max performance and overwrite the towing program since I never really tow anything. I am going to keep the 93 tune for now to see if maybe depending on the time of year they take that Ethanol blend out.

Again, thanks Mike for an awesome product and great tunes/service. Now I am really sold on the fact that you are the best out there, and will be coming back to you for other performance mods I need in the future!!

Yep, you can’t go wrong with custom tunes from Mike, he’s unequivocally the tune maestro

Hi Joe,

Glad to hear it!

I really don't think that 10% ethanol is going to be a problem, it just reduces peak power a little bit, and you don't get quite as good fuel economy, that's all - very rarely do you ever actually get detonation in our tuning for these newer F-150's just because your 93 octane is gasohol, so I really wouldn't worry about that - but that's up to you, of course!

Thanks for your post & have fun!

Hi John (jpdadeo),

I wanted to get your XCal2 out already, but I guess you saw those few no-starts we had, and we wanted to have that taken care of before sending yours out - as of a little after midnight, NJSTeve's truck is running fine now, so we feel we've got that taken care of and can now get your XCal 2 out to yo - I will try to get that done tomorrow before I have to leave for our sessions in Orlando, so you should see it in a few days now - finally!!!
