Awesome: Troyer Tuned!

I finally got the tuner in, I say finally, but it was exactly when Crystal at Troyer said it would be ready. But everyone knows how that goes, just can't wait to get something for the ride. It is everything that I read and was told about it. Since I run the 35's the transmission shifts points were not on there mark anymore. Well not anymore, This is the first thing I noticed that the tranny shifted awesome. Now you cant even tell your on 35's. It gets up and goes. This is everything I expected and then some. Thank you all for the input and advice and thanks to the crew at Troyer Performace. Great service and great product.

Nice truck and congrats on the tune! I should be talking to Mike shortly also.

With the tune now... does it run better than stock or about the same, now that the 35's are on it?

I'm going to be getting the same setup you have (but with different wheels and tires), but would like to know what to expect.

again congrats!

Brandon

Thanks Vegas,

The truck runs awesome. I could not say if it out performs the stock set up.
I only had the truck a couple of days before I added the lift and tires. I do not remember much about it. Well I should say in the factory set up it blew my Z71 away. I had the Z set up with a K&N FIPK, Flowmaster and Superchip, and lift and tires.
I was not looking for a new ride, It was fate, I was meant to have the best truck I have ever some across. I was very impressed with the factory power the FX had. But of course, I just could not leave well enough alone. Once you have a lift you always want a lift.

What I can not say enough is that the entire system works great, It burns those 35's. I know I did it, had to see for myself. It will smoke them Just once, tires cost to much.

I have the Airaid intake and Flowmaster 40 series and now the programer. Man it is awesome to drive.

I recomend it the whole chabang

That's a great looking ride you've got there.

What tune are you running? I got my X-cal a couple of weeks ago and just switched to the 93 perf. tune. Wow, worlds different than stock. So hard not to stomp on it every time I go somewhere.

Thanks jhogan

I am running the 87 with tow program, I haul alot of guns and ammo around so my truck is allways loaded down. Shoot I can only imagine what the 93 will do for it.

Hey Speed, that is awesome. I am just across the bridge, in wonderfull Corpus Christi.

Thanks O3S

I was torn between which progammer to get, but so many users were talking about the expeirence with Troyer. Well all these users must have some cred. So I called Troyer and man I am a believer now. I just did not know what to expect because I didn't want to run the 93 octane, and from what I hear that is where the power really is. Well if the 87 with tow program is any indication, I can only imagine what the 93 will do. I have 35's and I can smoke them off the stop light. Now that is a thing to see.

Hi STXFX4,

Glad to hear you're enjoying our custom tuning - nice to be able to turn those big tires over, eh?

It really takes a lot of work understanding these vehicles to get the kind of power & performance from them that we're getting - but it's well worthwhile.

Thanks for your post & have fun!

Hey 03SNKE,

Steve, I just had to drop you a note due to your screen name here - does that mean you are a 2003 Cobra owner, by chance? If so, congratulations! We're doing a lot of work with them, too, we're always tuned the Cobra's, Lightnings & blower Harleys.

As long as you don't treat the 03-04 Cobra like a race car every time you drive it, at the 550 RWHP level, they'll live for a good long time if they're treated right, even drag racing them a couple times a month. It's one of few engines we do not recommend using thicker oil on, as the piston-to sidewall clearance spec stock is tiny for a forged piston - about 1 thousandth. So you have to use the factory-recommended oil weight in a full synthetic & change it every 1500 miles, make sure they're fully warmed up before pounding on them, and no sustained top-speed runs or the pistons get hot and expand too much, seize, the top ring land takes a hike & breaks a ring, etc.

If you're a 03 Cobra owner you probably know all this anyway, I really just thought I'd say hello!
