superchip

Hey im buying a used superchip 1715 and i was wondering if i would have to reprogram it if the guy didnt have the same engine?

Doesn't matter. The only thing you need to be worried about is making sure he returns his truck to stock thus unlocking the unit. Without the VIN lock removed by returning his truck to stock, you'll be buying a dud!

Exactly what dzervit said - just make sure the seller has in fact used that 1715 to return his vehicle back to stock, otherwise you won't be able to use it.

The 1715 works on both V8 engines, the 4.6 and the 5.4 - and in the newer 3-program models made after September 15th of 2003, they will also work on the factory-supercharged 5.4 Lightnings & Harley's, too!
