You want an Xcalibrator (9300) not a 1714 and Mike Troyer is who you want doing the tunes for you.

You know guys heres the fact, all tuning done thats not on a dyno has as good of a chance as any other to work well. I have tuned many cars and can tell you that each most of the time requires different tuning to get the biggest increase. Now the SuperChips, Prediter and other generic tuners all work well for what they are, but if you want a real tune then go somewere they can put you on a dyno and get the best numbers. Its amazing how people always want to brag on certain tunes and state they are better than others but thats not always true. A generic non dyno tune is a generic tune no matter how you look at it. Now one guy or company may hit the numbers a little better than the other but without a dyno to prov ethat then its just talk.

I am not stating this to start a flame war but to merely express some facts.

Question Question?

Please, no flames intended here.

Where do you suppose Mike developed the tuning he puts forth in the Xcalibrator?

I agree it would be better if you did it all first hand on a dyno but lacking that I would certainly go with a proven tuner knowing he developed his tuning ability other than reading it out of a manual. So, the fact is your correct but all of us can't do the dyno so Mike's experence has proven itself to me. And that is why I chose his custom tuning over a "canned" tunner.

Not to disrespect anybody, I am new to the sight and I have a superchips 1714 programmer I got this before I knew of troyers and this sight. I have been reading nothing but good about Troyers and this sight has alot of good information on it. But to answer your question california dred I did get mine from that company and it is a superchips 1714 programmer, how much they actually know about this stuff I do not know.

I have checked 3 dyno spots in Michigan and they all tune for A/F ratios and power. I asked if they could data log so I could get a recording of required parameters for a full and proper tune and it was like pulling teeth. Nope we don't do that was the answer. One place could do it but they wanted to sell me a tune to go with the dyno session. No thanks. These are also facts so choose your tuner carefully.

Regards
