DiabloSport or Xcalibrator?
DiabloSport or Xcalibrator?
I have a 2004 FX4 and been looking at tuners. I hear great things about Mike Troyer and the Xcalibrator. I have also heard good things about the Diablo too. Does anyone have any experience with them and could help with some input on which one would be the better choice?

Hi amac110,
As you'll quickly see from reading the posts here, the vast majority of owners come to us for our in-depth custom tuning, because we have specialized in performance tuning the F-150 platform longer than anyone else, and are well known for our results. In fact, numerous manufacturers of other performance parts for these vehicles come to us for assistance with their R&D for this platform because of our reputation & results.
It all gets down to getting not just maximum power, but delivering maximum **safe & sustainable** power & performance gains, so as not to compromise the long-term durability of these very expensive new vehicles.
There are plenty of posts here from the people who spend their own hard-earned money, who have posted their impressions, results, testes, etc. to read from - it's always nice getting info directly form fellow vehicle owners.
And of course, please feel free to give us a call if you'd like to go over this in more detail, & best of luck whatever you decide!

Wondering if anyone else had any experience with it. I was thinking of getting the one from Trollduty for $300. But I want to make sure my truck is the BOMB! Thanks for the input Mike. I will have to give you a call when it gets time to get my tuner. Still waiting on that AirForce One intake to be shipped and then I will be getting an exhaust. After that comes the tuner.
Hi amac110,
Anytime - & have fun with that gorgeous '04 FX4..............
Speaking of which, I'm a bit jealous - our current '04 SuperCrew 4x4 (supercharged) is the first 4x4 F-150 Lariat we've had that didn't have the off-road package and a flairside body style, both of which I'd love to have. I don't know if that configuration is available right now, but back when we pre-ordered our 2004 in mid-2003, we couldn't order a Lariat with the FX4 package and the flairside body style like you could up thru the 2003 models - the FX4 was treated as a "model" of F-150 rather than just an option package (like the ORP) you could add to any 4x4. But then (of course) on the "Job 2" 2004 FX4's made later in that model year run, Ford did end up offering as an option the flairside body style with an extended cab, in an FX4 model, which we would have loved..................seeing your FX4 config there in your screen name blurb just reminded me of how much I like the newer FX4's.
Speaking of the new Air Force One units - we have a few units that are confirmed as being shipped & on their way to us, for us to do the final testing on - if that goes well, we'll sign off on them & start shipping as fast as AF1 can supply us - we'll be sending everyone who has them pre-ordered email info updates on the status on that, so hopefully it won't be very long now.
Have fun,

Have fun,
Thanks Superchips! I love my truck. I get compliments on it all the time. Just last weekend as I was taking out the trash a guy & his wife in a Chevy Silverado was driving by slow and stopped to look at my truck. He said he wanted one just like it and wanted to drive his wife by to show her my truck.
I have been looking at the BORLA side exit cat-back system but didnt see it on your site. I had already ordered my AF1 intake from another site for $240.57. I dont know if it was a mistake when they posted that price, but thats what my confirmation email reads so Im going to hold them to it. I would love to buy my exhaust from you if you can get the Borla system? If not thats cool, I will definitely be getting the Excalibrator 9300 from you!
I hear you are the BOMB and thats who I want working on my truck! I do have somequestions. I see on some sites they list parts for a 2004 1/2 model only. What makes your truck a 2004 1/2 model? My MFG date is 7/04. I was just curious. Also, how did you see my truck? From the other forum? I looked to see if I could post a pic here, but I didnt see a way. Thanks for all the info and I look forward to doing business with you in the future!
