Smile 1714 tuner

After just installing my 1714 , 87 octane program on my 2004 Lariat 5.4l, I am quite impressed at the better overall response.

I was wondering if the 91/93 octane (no tow) tune give a really noticable improvement over the 87 tune?

I am getting ready to install the magna SISO system. Should I wait to evaluate the 91/93 or just go ahead with the exhaust install?

Should I wait for Airforce 1 intake to be released for the 04 f150 of go with the Airaid?

Yes dont wait, install the 93 tune. It will be alot more noticeable than the 87. Atleast it was for me. I would also wait for the airforce one to come out.

1714 TUNE

I installed the 1714 on my 04 F150 54l. Nice performance improvement at the 87 octane setting. So I wanted to see the 91 octane difference. Filled the tank with 91 octane., retuned to the new 91 setting and am disappointed. Not much more difference (but there is a little). However the fuel economy is poorer than the 87 setting by about 1.2 MPG in city. Going back to the 87 setting since that seemed good for my use.

I just knocked down from using the 91+ tune for the last 3-4 months. PCM is still learning, but my first 10 mile impression is the shifting is a little softer and it holds gears longer before shifting. Still has plenty of pep, and I think I'll enjoy the $8-10 bucks I'll save each week while premium gas prices are outragous

I’ve been hanging tough on the 93-octane because there’s a local 7-11 that only has a 12¢ spread form 87 to 93.

87 - $1.97
89 - $2.03
93 - $2.09
