Talking computers

Message for Mike and Anita Troyer. I am new to the forum. I am also a 1st time f150 (or any truck) owner. My 2004 is fun but feels like a sluggish dog. After hearing about TP, I phoned and talked (twice) to Anita. She is a real pleasure to talk to and deal with. I ordered a 1714 yesterday and expect delivery 2/25. I can't hardly wait. (I hope it is not one of the 1714's that have had programming problems). In any event, I want to say thanks to Anita for her warm help. Maybe someday I can talk to MIke. They have my business now.

When will AF1 be available for the 2004 5.4l (3v)??

Thanks, BARCFR

9100

when did they say that they cant get the 9100 , i ordered mine / sent in the paper work a week and a half ago .

Was told that they still carry the 9100 , and that due to the amount of work that is backed up , it would take about 10 to 14 days for mike to get to my order . ( waiting is the hard part .)

Just for clarification, as I think here is a misunderstanding here.

The 9100 is no more - it will NOT be made any more, period, because it is not CAN-complaint as is required to tune the 2004 & newer F-150's & other newest FoMoCo vehicles - like the 6.0 PSD's, 2005 Mustang, etc., etc. Now all OUTSTANDING ORDERS that we have not yet shipped we DO have units on hand to fill them and they will ship as soon as we get the custom tuning done. We simply are not taking any *more* custom tuning orders for the 9100 Micro Tuner, as it's not going to be made any more as it's not CAN-compatible - it's a very simple matter of simple having the latest technical capabilities for the newest FoMoCo vehicles, and that requires the 9300 Xcalibrator.

The 9100 was actually canceled months ago, but we managed to get some more units - and we've sold them all, so as soon as we get a chance, they'll be pulled from our web site. Anyone who ordered a 9100 thru our web site *after* all our current 9100 inventory was spoken for was contacted and told they need the 9300.

The 9300 (Xcalibrator) replaces the 9100, and it also have the CAN capability for the newest vehicles, and still works on all the other FoMoCo OBD-II vehicles back to the 1996 model year - so that is the current technology. And no, you DO NOT give up any functionality, it works exactly the same with 3 custom tunes, the ability to return to stock, and flashes the PCM even faster than the 9100 did, and has some additional capabilities that the 9100 did NOT have. There is one exception - it does not have the built-in generic OBD-II code scanner.

So that's the scoop, gang.

If there are any other questions on any of this, just give us a call at our number listed below.

Last - for the ORIGINAL post in this thread from Carl - we don't know when the Air Force One for the new 5.4 3-valve F-150's will ship at this point. Air Force One has a lot on their plate, and this application has been very slow to get done, because of the MAS design change in the 2004 & up 5.4 3V F-150's, that vehicle takes a LOT more R&D for an intake tract to not cause the engine to run lean than what is required on any other vehicle, or previous model years of the F-150. For anyone wanting an intake kit for the 2004 or newer 5.4 3-valve F-150, we recommend ordering the Airaid unit - power gains are a whopping 20 HP at the wheels at just 3000 rpm, it works very well, and we have thoroughly tested it and found it to be safe to use on these newest F-150's - and that is what *our* 2004 5.4 3V wears.
