Confused about the custom tune...

Hi Ragarm,
That's probably our fault, because for some months we used the Xcalibrator primarily on the 2004 & newer F-150's & a few other FoMoCo vehicles that have the PowerPC-based PCM's, which *require* the Xcalibrator to be able to tune them. So we may have given you/others that impression, albeit unintentionally.
But in reality, the Xcalibrator woks on basically all 1996 & up OBD-II FoMoCo vehicles - so someone with a 1996 5,0 F-150 can use it, or say, someone with a 1998 4.2 V6 F-150, and so on - virtually all of the 1996 & newer FoMoCo vehicles can be tuned using the Xcalibrator, it's very flexible in that regard.
Just FYI...........

The Xcalibrator (9300) will get you about 50% more hp & torque than the 1715 and you can switch from one tune to another in less than 10 min.

EVO's right...
Hi.
The only difference between the two is as EVO indicated, plus the 9300 performs the reflash operation faster, and has no LCD display, and can't clear codes, I believe.
Other than speed and vehicle /year support ( CAN being the determinator), the tuners are pretty much just different vehicles delivering the same supremely capable 'in-depth' custom tuning that Mike is famous for.
When the X2 comes out (with datalogging, code reading/clearing and a screen again, as SCT has mentioned)... a lot of us may want an upgrade path ;-))
cheers - it's Friday !

Check with SCT or Mike..
Hi.
Go to:
http://www.sctflash.com/forum/
...and check out the 'Product Updates' topic.
Currently, there is no definite delivery date - they say it's 'weeks' away.
Also note that SCT indicated a discounted upgrade/tradi-in path for current 9300 owners is being considered, but not for 9100 owners. Bummer.
They may re-consider if we bug 'em enough ;-)).
So, all you 9100-toting folks - start petitioning SCT. My position is that there should be an upgrade path for both 9100 *AND* 9300 owners, to the X2.
Cheers
