PC Software tuning?
There is a site that has most all the major programs lines that you would be interested in changing along with commentary and some suggestion as to settings, along with warnings for some interactive lines.
That would be a good place to start the learning process.

Holy qudra post Batman...LOL
It started as doubles then progressed to triples on a few but that is the first quadruplet post I have seen it do.
Do you know the site off hand? The warnings would be a good thing for me... LOL

Hey BG... I took care of the accidental quadra-post.
Sorry about the site... we're working through this problem slowly. Be patient with us... we'll have it back to good soon hopefully.

I have been having a great time with hanging and mutiple posting to.
For the starting info, look at www,fordfuelinjection.com.
On the right side list, click on download files then on Superchip files.
This will get you started in understanding much of what goes on.
To print the file without losing any full lines, you have to do an edit so you can break the lines into smaller lengths to fit on the printer paper in either portrait or landscape profile.
The software and hardware is quite expensive to do this at the involved level like a dealer would.
The FORD motorcraft sites have a lead in on this sort of thing, for more information.
Also HP-Tuners site is a good place to get some gounding on all this.
It really has to be worth it for the investment you would make.
There are hand held tuners that might be a good start for you, at less expense.

Yea I had thought about a hyper tuner but if I'm going to spend $300 I think I might would rather spend $1000 or so and have complete control. If they are much more than that, then will probably settle for a hyper tuner or something. I have 2 Fords that the software will likely work on my 2000 F-150 and my wifes 96 Explorer. Plus my supervisor and 2 other guys I know also rebuild and improve wrecked F series trucks with chips and etc. on the side so, I could proabley make some money tuning thiers for them with it too. I might even pay up to $2K for it maybe. Thanks for the link, I will go check them out.
I took a look at that link OMG that is so cool! Thank you so much! They have programs on there but I didnt see any where to buy the data cable on first glance anyway. I will go back many many more times though. I was hoping it would be a little more user friendly interface, but I think I might can figure it out eventually. The documents that I glanced at did not say anything about being able to store and save your stock or previous settings, so that kind of scares me. One portion of the tweecer defs. said that one area of the program had an 80 cell table.
Whoa...that is a lot of information I am going to have to learn and know what the value of each cell stands for before I would be comfortable to even consider hooking it up and trying to change anything. That almost gives me a headache just thinking about learning that much info. LOL
BUT once I do I would have full control of everything from MAFS to the 02's and everything in-between, which will not only let me maximize OEM equipment but beable to add larger injectors, cam, exhaust, etc., as I want to and that will make it worth the time of learning it all. I am so excited now this is so great! Thank you again for the lead! I knew it had to be out there I just didn't know where to begin the search!

Without getting to long winded, you are trying to enter a field of engine control that can get very deep.
A computer programming background along with a good knowledge of engine fueling, timing and other aspects of engine operation, makes the better success and a much shorter learning curve.
Lacking this, it is better to go with a hand held unit to get started then sort of fill in as you go.
With only your own cars and trucks to work with, my guess is it is not cost effective to go much beyond the available programming units now offered but that could alway change as you get more involved.
The PCM is again changeing to the CAN protocol and "all" vehicles will be on this by 2008 as mandated by the federal gov.. You will be adding/changing sometime in the future.
The Ford programers are quite costly with at least two types being used. The NGS is now the older system with WDS replacing it.
So far you can't get access to all the programming that is done and takes great effort to try and pick out much of it by your own means, as many other have done in the past.
Good luck in any event.
