The custom tunes give you approximately 50% more hp and torque over the 1715. Do a couple of searches and you’ll find lots of info on the subject.

Hi Slowrancher,

John (jpdadeo) is absolutely right - definitely go with our custom tuned Micro Tuner over the standard 1715 unit if you want the best results - you'll see significantly larger power & performance gains, and better driveability as well.

The 1715 works very well, don't misunderstand - we are America's oldest Superchips distributor, and the 1715 is a great product that you'll certainly be happy with. It's just that for those who are willing to spend just a little bit more to get the very best, our custom tuning is the way to go. We specialize in modifying the Ford F-series platform vehicles, and with the many years of R&D, our custom tunes go much more in-depth and yield a significantly better result.

If you like, you can use the SEARCH feature here to look up past posts from people who have run both products on their truck and compared them - people like "openclasspro," "watsonr," etc., have used both the 1715 and our custom tuning, and they all will tell you that our custom tuning feels like it does as much more over the 1715 as the 1715 does over the stock factory tuning - so it's definitely worth it.

Feel free to give us a call at our number listed below if you'd like to go over this in more detail as well.

This is even more important in a SuperCrew 4x4 FX4, as that is one of the very heaviest F-150 configurations available - with a drive & tank of fuel on board, that truck is very close to 6000 lb - that's an awful lot of weight to haul, and these trucks need every bit of torque they can possibly make at any throttle position, at any rpm.

Also, one last thought - as a registered member of F-150 Online, you get a special additional discount on Superchips products by calling us, and that will reduce your cost on either the 1715 or our custom tuning - just FYI so you'll know.

Best of luck whatever you decide!
