Mike T. You are the Man!!!
After two years of batteling a cold driveability problem on my 2001 4.6 supercrew, it is cured.
I talked to Mike for about 15 minutes and described my problem Mike checked the custom tune he had done some months ago, emailed me a new tune 5 minutes to download into 9100 5 minutes to dowload to truck and now instant fix. This morning we had 2 degree temperature and truck ran perfict, this truck acted up any time the temp was below 25 degrees from the time I baught it (used) I had thught that Ford would have a fix but they never did. There are no service bullitans and the dealers I talked to could not help.
Thanks as always Mike you are the ultamate tuner truck is runing perfict. thanks again

Hi Fellas,
Glad to hear that took care of it Chuck, excellent news! Thanks as always for your kinds words, too.
Larry, what Chuck is talking about is a cold start problem he had with his pre-2004 truck - in very cold temperatures, it didn't want to run right on cold start - chug, pop, etc., until it got some heat in it - now keep in mind his truck is heavily modified, supercharger, bigger injectors,m MAF, and many other mods, so it's not even remotely close to stock.
Anyway, there were a couple of issues that we took care of for him.
This is not something that you would see on the 2004 or 2005 3-valve 5.4's, by the way, either in stock trim or with our tuning - it's something seen primarily in the 1997-2003 trucks, and even then only very rarely.
Merry Christmas!

Larry, as Mike said the truck laid over popped bucked when tem was cold below 25 degrees, I might add the truck did it in stock trim when i purchased the truck used all be it not as bad. Last winter I had the supercharger installed with the stock tune and fmu with a granetelli mass air and the truck was just terrable cold, and I was never happy with the perormance with the supercharger, this is when after reading all the post on this great sight that I decided to talk to Mike. After a long talk and a few dyno runs, he recomended the 9100 with his custom tune, ford 90mm mass air 42# injectors larger fuel pump and factory tech valve body. Needles to say the truck was unbeliavable for a daily driver that ways 5000 + pounds. I have also added Troyer electric fans, another great mod. Mike during the process tweaked the tune and shifts to my liking and I have been completley sattisfied. When the cold weather first struck this year I still had the cold issue, the problem being what is the problem, it did it in stock trim???? This is when I called Mike, after revewing his tune he said he would make an adjustment that he thaught might cure the problem, and cure it it has the truck is perfict, as soon as I get my intercooler on I will be done. (ha ha) Thanks again for youre help Mike!!!!! The man never stops untill the customer is happy, he and his crew are all very special people.
Hi Chuck,
Thanks for your post, and for the content of your last email.
I'm just glad we were able to get your truck running right in cold weather, as you had suffered from that problem for far too long. Your vehicle was an excellent example of a truck that has been lovingly maintained & modified, yet despite all best efforts, ran like you-know-what in cold weather.
Hopefully you can now enjoy that truck's power & performance with decent driveability all year long, instead of just in summertime!
You know, we're really not that far apart, so who knows - maybe this next year we can get together sometime.
Enjoy your truck & Merry Christmas to you & your family, Chuck!

Again thank you Chuck and Mike for the great information. Sharing what we do with our favorite rides is almost as enjoyable as driving them. Best of the Holidays to you all.
