Need your help Mike

In the superchips tuner 1715 it states in the instuctions that the fuel system fuse has to be pulled out before the tuning process begins. Heres my question: In the owners manual for my truck I have multiple fuses under the hood that are related to the fuel system. They are as follows: Fuse # 10-20 amp: Fuel Pump, Fuse # 18-15 amp: PCM/Fuel Injectors/Fuel Pump Relay/Mass Air Flow Sensor, and then fuse # 301 and # 304 are fuel pump relay and PCM relay, but it does not specify the ampage (I took that as there were not fuses in those spots). So which fuse do I pull? Thanks Mike.

fuel pump #10

If you pull the other fuse you could disable the PCM and it won't take the tune

Hi Bonefish,

I need to point something out, so please bear with me a minute here...................

Please remember that we cannot provide Tech Support to our customers here - it's against the rules of F-150 Online for any vendor to provide any of their customers with Tech Support here on F-150 Online. We provide Tech Support for any product purchased directly from us, and we do that either in person or by telephone - not by typing here, not in email - only in person or by telephone. Typing takes hundreds of times longer than talking does, and we get hundreds of posts & emails every day - thus we have to have a firm policy of providing our customers with Tech Support over the phone or in person only. Thanks in advance for your understanding on this, it's greatly appreciated!

Briefly................

Just follow the instructions in the 1715's manual - I know it can sometimes be a bit daunting if you look at everything else listed in the fuse box, but the thing to remember is to keep it simple, and just read the instructions without adding anything to them, or worrying about things that are not discussed, etc., in the Micro Tuner's manual. For example, it tells you to remove the fuel pump fuse - it does not tell you to remove the fuel pump relay, the MAF's fuse, or any other fuse or relay - just the fuse for the fuel pump. In the 1997-2003 F-150's, that will always be just 1 fuse, and it will be in the PDB (Power Distribution Box, commonly called a fuse box) under the hood, on the driver's inner fender - it won't be in the fuse box that is inside the cabin.

Now in a lot of these trucks, that will be Fuse#10 that you need to remove - but that is not ALWAYS the case, and that is precisely why the 1715's manual clearly states to check your vehicle's owners manual to identify which fuse is for the FUEL PUMP.

By the way - this is just one of many things you can easily find for yourself by using F-150 Online's SEARCH feature - that's what it's here for, so that F-150 Online members can quickly access anything that has ever been discussed here, without having to wait for someone to see your post and know the right answer and get back to you. The icon to access SEARCH is in the upper right portion of your screen here - you'll want to get in the habit of using the SEARCH feature first any time you want to know something, you'll get the info you want & need much quicker that way. For example, there is virtually nothing regarding the Micro Tuners that cannot be quickly looked up & read here in any of hundreds upon hundreds of previous posts - so you'll want to get familiar with the SEARCH feature and using it's excellent search filters, as that is your key to instantly unlocking all the info you could want on this topic.

Just FYI so you'll know for future reference, and please don't hesitate to call us if you have questions, etc., we're happy to help.

Good luck & have fun!
