Since Mike is a very busy person I am going to answer your question so hopefully he won't have to.

Without a doubt the 9100 SuperChips Custom Tuner will give you the best performance gains. Read all about it here: http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...catalogno=9100

I recommend calling Troyer Performance if you have ANY more questions regardless how small. They have a very intelligent staff that is more than willing to answer ALL your questions.

If you do order from them, do not order online. Call them and tell them you are a member here and you will get a discount.

Hi Racer,

Thanks for dropping by!

I'll get to your questions, but first, just so you'll know an easy way to instantly access information here............

Virtually everyone who comes here wants to know the same thing - "what's the best?" So it's what we call one of "the basics," and thus plenty of information can easily be looked up right here by using the SEARCH feature to retrieve and read any of our thousands of previous posts on that exact topic - the icon to access SEARCH is in the upper right portion of your screen here, just so you'll know fir future reference.

OK, on to your questions.............

In terms of whether you go with a chip or a hand-held tuner, that doesn't matter in terms of the results - either type of device will deliver the same tuning to the PCM, and thus yield the exact same performance results. It's really a matter of cost versus features and how much installation work you want to do when deciding between a chip or a tuner. Please feel free to use the search here to read previous posts on each, and also drop by our web site too, and read up in our Superchips Tuning section - here's the link to take you to our tuning section: http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...chips%3BFoMoCo

Many people prefer using the hand-held flash device, as it's quicker & easier to install - to me, I don't really care so much about that, but I do prefer the flash style of device (the tuner) any time nitrous is not being used, as that way there are no limitations in terms of doing diagnostics or datalogging - when you flash the PCM, *any* OBD-II compatible scan tool will work, but when yo use a chip, a good number of scan tools cannot communicate with the PCM when any chip is installed. So on my truck, I run the flash device as I do a lot of diagnostics & datalogging, for example - most people go that route just because it's easier to install.

The main thing is to go with our *custom* tuning to get the best possible power gains & performance results - we offer both "standard" and "custom" performance tuning, and the custom tuning is what yields the best performance.

The best thing to do would be as glen_ap suggested in his response, which is to call us to go over just what we can do for your vehicle, go over the various options, how you use the vehicle, it's exact configuration, etc., and set you up with our custom tuning to get the best performance improvements.

I hope that info helps for now, & please do feel free to give us a cal to go veer this in proper detail - and best of luck with your truck whatever you decide!
