i just got a superchips 1715, and i am getting a error code 9. i put the 87 octane tune on it the otheday, and i tryed to put the towing tune on it and it says "error 9 not stock tune". what do i do. i would call superchips but they are closed today.

Hi Chris,

Sounds like it's been used on another vehicle and you (or someone) didn't return that other vehicle back to stock first, as error 9 is the copy protection VIN-lock!

That means you (or somebody) used that Micro Tuner on ANOTHER DIFFERENT vehicle and didn't return that other vehicle back to stock before you tried using it to tune yet another vehicle. This error code won't happen just from using it only on the one same original vehicle when just trying to change programs.

From the manufacturer - "Error codes 9 & 10 - The EECV Micro tuner becomes "Locked" to the vehicle after programming. If the customer attempts to program a different vehicle, the Micro Tuner will generate those error codes."

Bottom line - you will have to call Superchips directly for help with this, so it will have to wait until Monday.
