SCMT for 2005 PSD (Mike)

Hi Mike. Ron Kaltenbach here from Southern Cal. When do you think Superchips will be offering a SCMT for the new PSDs (2005s). Ron

Hi Ron,

Long time no see!

Basically, whenever the R&D is done, just like with any new vehicle or product. Remember, the 2005's haven't existed for very long, so just like with any brand new vehicle, it's going to take some time before enough PCM revisions are released and the R&D is done on them to make it cost-effective to develop the tuning and release the product. There is no way to "schedule" or predict that timetable - that's the nature of R&D, you don't know when it's done until it's done, and that hasn't even been released for the 2003 or 2004 6.0 PSD's yet!

Unless it's a vehicle specifically dedicated to racing use ONLY, then we do not recommend going that "custom" route on the diesels - far more R&D has been done & we're see fantastic power gains & results using the existing 1704 Micro Tuner for the 6.0 PSD, which you can read about at this link:http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...catalogno=1704

That is the route I would go for any 6.0 PSD, as that product is solid, has a lot of R&D behind it & works very well, and many 6.0 PSD owners are already happily using them. It won't be too long before the 1704's are updated for the 2005 6.0 PSD's, it's just a matter of letting enough time go by to get enough of the new model year's various PCM software revisions and getting the R&D done on each of them.

What I'd suggest is dropping us an email at: sales@troyerperformance.com, and we'll automatically notify you as soon as each product is released.

Good seeing you again, thanks for dropping by & congratulations on your brand new 2005 SuperDuty 6.0 PSD!

Thanks Mike. I have been away for awhile. Since I first bought the 01 Powerstroke have not visited this site often. Ron
