There is still a good deal of testing being done and decisions yet to be made - just for the F-150 platform alone that's quite a chore due to all the many different PCM revisions, hundreds each model year, etc., that it has to work on.
Nobody knows when the R&D will be done - that's the nature of the beast, you have no idea when R&D will be done until it's done, so it just can't be predicted or scheduled, etc.
