Hypertech Power Programmer
Hi Dan the Man,
That won't work.
You can only use that kind of device on one vehicle at a time, as it stores the factory program and uploads the performance program, and that's it, so it has nothing to upload into a second vehicle if it's already in use on another vehicle. You can go back from stock to modified as many times as you like on the same vehicle basically, but you can only use that performance program on *one* vehicle at a time, *precisely* so that people can't do what you want to do, buy one unit and then use it on multiple vehicles, as that would basically be software piracy, and defraud the manufacturer from the return on their very large R&D investment to design, R&D & market that product.
When you stop & think about the engineering skills & talents required to do this work, combined with the tremendous investment required in the physical resouces & infrastructure it takes to be able to properly reverse-engineer these applications, what you pay for a Superchip is one of the best bargains going in aftermarket performance products today.
Producing a fully optimized performance powertrain program is far more than "just a few adjustments".

I've got one for a '98 4.6/5.4 Hypertech #480002
Is yours a '98 V-8?
With the Programmers, you really need to buy them, because you may need it to "return to stock" settings sometime ... and you can only make adjustments, with your programmer.
I'd sell mine cheap. if you could use it...

Well, when I responded to Dan...I knew that, but maybe I should have mentioned that my '98 F-150's computer was "returned to stock", because I did return it to the "factory" settings before I traded the truck off. So, if Dan's truck is a '98 V-8, then my programmer is "just like new!"
It still has the instructions with it, explaining what you just mentioned.
