Rally help
ok guys,
i'm going to take the plunge and go with a s/chip. i'm going to try to time it so mike can bring it to the rally. here's my question for the board, will you guys at the rally help me put this thing in? i have never done anything like this and could use the help of people who have. tell me what tools to bring. thanks in advance, Rich.

Hi Rich,
Well, at the very least, I'll give you a hand with showing you how we clean the contacts and mount the Superchip, etc., You'll have all the help on this you could ever want among all of us who will be there for the Rally, no sweat on that!
As a Superchip owner you really should do this work yourself (we'll all be there to give you a hand, at least, I will, so don't worry about having help), so that you will know how to do it and how to remove it as well, when you take the vehicle in for service, etc. However, one of the things that would be most helpful to you is to see how we go about cleaning the connector on the back of the computer to prep it for the installation of the Superchip, that is one of the single most important issues in the installation, and I'll be happy to help you do that. If you like, I'll do some of it myself, showing you our technique, and then you can finish it, and I'll watch with you there, so nothing goes wrong, etc. You won't have a problem getting it installed during the Rally.
In fact, in our response to your email today, we noted some of the tools & materials you'll need to bring along to do this, etc., and I'm sure others will have plenty of their own comments & suggestions for you in this thread as well.
This will be fun!
