YOMAN,

I did a search on eBay so I could see what you are referring to. The $80 rebate for that item is from the item seller, not Superchips. You'd have to contact the seller to find out exactly how that works. I'm guessing that Superchips has a minimum advertised price that their dealers can use, and it's the seller's way of keeping the "Buy It Now" price at or above that price (but this is just speculation on my part).

Just sold my 2000 Lariat Supercab 4.6L and got me a new 2004 Screw 4x4 with a 5.4L. Really wanted more power. Problem is that on my first encounter I punched the accelerator to keep a Hummer H2 from coming around me and cutting me off while entering an expressway and he ate me up.

He was by me before my engine even recognized that I had punched the throttle.

I definitely want to get a 1714 programmer.

Hi hefnes,

Yes, that's the same complaint heard from virtually every 2004 F-150 owner - lack of throttle response, especially in a situation where power is needed *quickly*. This is due to the throttle-by-wire setup primarily.

That throttle response is vastly improved with the 1714 Micro Tuner, as you can see from the other 2004 owners using it who have posted their impressions here.

You can read about it here at this link (read about Part# 1714 specifically): http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...chips%3BFoMoCo

The 2004 F-150's performance can be vastly improved upon - we offer numerous different performance parts to add power & wake these trucks up with much better throttle response, power & performance.

The 2004 F-150 is by far the best truck Ford has ever built - I wouldn't have a competing GM or Dodge product (and God forbid, a foreign job) - the 2004 F-150 is much smoother, much better handling, vastly improved ride characteristics, and improved in so many other ways - it's just the performance that is really lacking, and that's not hard to improve upon noticeably.

If you'd like to go over any of this in detail, feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to help.

Good luck with your new truck,
