Superchip is in!!
I know that everyone posts when they get a superchip in and i am going to do so also. I have a 2000 expy w/mods(check sig). the install was easy. longest part was cleaning the contacts. i had the bracket that has the rolled lip on it and i was told by Mike to take the bracket out and either cut or bend the rolled edge, i didn't do that because i did not have my 1/4 air ratchet around. i used some velcro on the backside of the ecu. this is not your normal velcro this stuff is made by 3M and it is not a hook and loop kind. it is the real heavy duty stuff that came on my NY EZPass transponder thing. it spaced the ecu out about 1/4 inch so that i did not need to use the black clip and i did not have to roll the edge. I noticed the firmer shifts(no tire chirp) and the increased mileage. now 13.0 instead of 10.5. and that is with the superchip testing. I am very pleased with the setup and now i hope it will make the pig tow my Jeep better. i reconmend this upgrade and Mike troyer. Thanks Mike

Scott,
Congrats on the painless install. You'll love it.
Just curious, do you have the 4.6 or 5.4? And what do you think of the Gibson headers? I've heard about half good and half bad. I've got the Swept Side and have thought about the Gibson headers to match, but I'm almost swayed to JBA's if I decide to do it.
Thanks......

Scott,
The Hellwig simply replaces the OEM bar, it's just a whole lot stouter and worth while. I think I lost some of the bobbing a that loose feel once I installed it. I ran with it for a while before doing any other suspension mods. It took a while beofe I started noticing things, or the lack of things like tha front end bob. It didn't eliminate it but it reduced it by enought that after I was convince the bar didn't do anything, I caught my self always scratching my head thinking I was driving different or something. I just think that is keeps the truck in much better control.
I thought Hellwig was coming out with a front replacement for the Expy but I can't find it. Hotchkis(sp) makes both from and rear. www.truckperformance.com sells them for around $500 for the pair.
SO no problems with the headers huh? I've even seen a post where someone replaced the Gibson with JBA's. I've heard mostly quality concerns. How does the stainless look once they get burned in so to speak?

Hi Scotty Bones,
Wow, a 2.5 mpg increase, from 10.5 to 13.0, that's a 19.23% increase, excellent!
The average on most V-8 automatic F-150's s about 1.5-2.0 more mpg from the Superchip, but we have also gotten some reports of as much as a 3.5 mpg gain under ideal conditions, so it sounds like you're doing very well indeed in the mileage department!
Thanks for your post, & we hope this makes towing your Jeep a bit more comfortable!
