Post New Motor...Does the chip need changed?

ok i got a brand new motor for the piston slap and oil leak,
does the chip need changed in any way?

Not unless they changed the computer also.

Hi Pyro,

These days they don't normally reflash the computer when changing the engine, it's more often done when changing an automatic transmission, but even that is pretty rare these days on these late-model Fords.

You would know if your computer had been reflashed, as it would not start with the Superchip installed in most cases, and on those few occasions when codes are close enough to allow it to start, it would be running *way* too rich, you'd smell the raw gas, and know something was off right away. As long as none of that is happening, you don't have to worry about it.
