Question Best solution for a 2004 5.4

What is my best option for any improvements for my truck?

It is a 2004 F-150 4x4 supercab 8300 GVWR with 8' box and 4:10 gear ratio with all options including towing. (I hope to soon cahnge the stock 245/70R17 tires to a larger 295/70R17 so that will effect the gearing some). I seem to have good power even towing over 6000 but of course my milage always stinks and more power never hurts!

You have good gears...

Go this route!! With the 4.10 gears you can handle a 35" tires very easily.

I would suggest the following in the order listed-

Superchips 1714 programmer
Exhaust
Cold Air Intake
Electrick Fans

Hi David,

We specialize in improving the performance of the F-150 platform, so we can help you with that.

In terms of where to start, that would be with our #1714 Micro Tuner, as that will give you solid power &performance gains, and noticeably improve the slow throttle response that plagues the 2004 3-valve 5.4 F-150.

From there, the intake is next, and then the exhaust - and there are plenty more things you can do, too. Drop by our web site at www.TroyerPerformance.com and spend some time looking over the various things there - you'll find plenty for your 2004 F-150, from tuning to intakes to exhaust to underdrive pulleys to package deals, etc.

And of course, please feel free to call us at our number listed below if you like, & we can spend some time going over everything with you in proper detail - that's really the best thing to do first, so we go over exactly what areas will yield the best results, what to do in what order, get the best pricing, discuss how you are using your truck & what you want to accomplish, etc. - we're happy to help.

Best of luck with whatever you decide, & congrats on your new 2004 F-150!
