Post chip me

okay, I know that many of you will think that this is overkill, and those who don't will think "there is no overkill". I want to know if it is possiable to buy or reprogram the computer in my 1988 F-250. The truck is EFI and has a 460, I just don't know if a chip is available.

Hi Ford4Fun,

Yes, we do make the Superchip for that vehicle as well, though we'll first need to know the computer code of your truck, to determine if we have that specific vehicle's computer code already done or not. So you'll want to take a look on your computer for it's code sticker. The code we're looking for on those older trucks can be either 3 or 4 digits, usually 2 or 3 letters and a number. Most of the time the computer is mounted behind the Driver's kick panel, so you can just remove that panel and look on the computer, but sometimes on those older 80's units it can also be mounted under the dash, roughly about in the middle of the dash.

All Ford computers look very similar, and will have a big code sticker right on top of the computer (and sometimes also another smaller code sticker on the back), which will look like a galvanized aluminum box, about 1.5 inches tall by 6 inches wide by
9 inches long.

For all the details, please give us a call at our number listed below, and we can go over all of this with you.
