I have a 99'F-150 with an automatic transmission.I also have Helix Power Tower,K&N Air filter and split rear flowmaster exhaust.In overdrive or trying to pull a hill it loses alot of speed and it doesnt drop to 3rd to pull it any better.I was wondering what chip do yall recomend for more aggresive transmission changes and more power in overdrive.

Well, I guess my opinion is going to be rather biased, but the simple fact is the Superchip is head & shoulders above other chips, which is why we market them and no other, we don't care what name is on the outside, we care about the quality of the program inside.

The Superchip will make more power, and it adds power *all* the time, at any throttle position, where others only add power on full-throttle and are made "generically", etc., because it's much cheaper to make a chip that way, but it doesn't work very well.

The Superchip is made for each individual vehicle's exact software revision in it's computer, and it works *all* the time, and those are the 2 primary factors that make it better than the rest.

If you'd like to go over this in detail, please feel free to give uis a call, and we'll be happy to go over everything with you, so you can give it some thought.

And of course there are many people here in this section using chips, and they'll tell you what they think as well, so you'll be getting other responses, too.

Hey therock, if you're driving the blue oval you gotta get a superchip. Listen to mike, he knows his stuff, and the superchip has done everything he claimed it would. If you want better shifts, man, you are gonna get better shifts. although i dont tow anything, i am almost positive it has to help when pulling something. The superchip does many things that JET and Hypertech can't do because of their generic nature. Just call and talk to Mike if you havent allready. I know you'll be convinced. it took mine a couple of days for me to really tell the difference, but i am thoroughly satisfied with the results.

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME POSTING BUT HERE GOES. I GOT A CHIP FROM MIKE IN DEC. JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS. I GOT IT BECAUSE I NEEDED HELP TOWING 3 SNOWMOBILES WITH MY 97 4.6. IT IS EVERYTHING I HOPED IT WOULD BE. MY TRUCK DOES NOT SHIFT OUT OF OVERDRIVE AS QUICKLY AND ACCELERATES AND SHIFTS MUCH BETTER. I HAVE PUT 5000 MI. ON SINCE INSTALATION OF THE CHIP AND WOULD HATE TO THINK OF DRIVING WITHOUT IT. IT IS THE BEST MOD. I ALSO HAVE THE K&N FIPK AND A GIBSON SWEPT SIDE.

 

Potato if in a relaxed atmosphere.
Dorito if in a party atmosphere.
Cow if in a mellow atmosphere.
Intel if you are wearing a propeller on your hat.

This is my second 5.4L that I have Superchipped. I have no complaints at all with this chip..the performance gains and shifting have been incredible and well worth the extra cost to run Premium.

thanks for noticing, mike. or should i say not noticing me. yeah i only get on once or twice a week because i am on the road all the time. Still happy with the chip i got from you but lately seems that i dont have as much power as i did when i first got it. I am still evaluating that though, might just be my imagination. I havent had the opportunity yet to try to "light em up" since i first noticed this. I know they will peel with the chip in and not without it so we will see what happens. i will get back to you to let you know.

Well, whatever the reason, it's nice to "see" you back again! We hope all your time on the road is a positive thing for you, sounds like a lot of hours you're putting in there.

That's somewhat common to get used to the additional power from the Superchip, because it's delivery is so smooth. When you first put it in, you feel a very noticeable difference, and then as you accumulate miles, some people just get used to it, as you mentioned.

Just remember that the Superchip's program cannot ever change on it's own, so as long as it's fed good quality premium gas, it's always going to do what it does.

If you ever want to be reminded of just what it's doing for you, try taking the Superchip out for a couple of weeks, and do all your driving without it. Then after a week or two, put the Superchip back in, and you'll feel that same difference all over again.

answering your question about the power tower
I personaly like it,and so does my brother. the tower gave me low end and a little more top end!! Everyone has their own opions, so you might have some more responses about the it. Gas mileage has improved on both our vehicles. The whistling sound is louder on my truck because of the fipk, it works better with k&n filter or fipk. Hopes this helps!!
