Question Bad effects of chips

While I am thinking of installing a chip, does anyone no of any problems with the F-150 that the chip might cause?

Can the factory "settings" be restored if the chip is removed?

Any info would be helpful, because I know nothing. Thanks

JRF150,

As I am sure you are about to find out from droves of happy SuperChip owners, there are no ill effects of installing the Chip (doing a search in the SuperChip forum will immediately get you a ton of useful feedback). The install is extremely easy, as long as you are patient with the process (should take about an hour to install).

If you do need to restore the factory program, just pull the chip (a 5 second process) and the old program will be downloaded. It's that easy.

Hope this helped.

Hi JRF150,

The Superchip does not cause any detrimental affects to your vehicle, so you won't have to worry about that.

When the Superchip is removed, the Ford computer turns back on it's internal EEPROM chip that stores the factory stock program, so removing the Superchip causes the computer to revert back to it's stock program, that is correct.

There is a lot of good information here on the message boards, and if you'd like to give us a cll to go over any details, questions, etc,, please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below, we'll be happy to go over all of this with you, so you can give it some thought.
