Post 2 different tire sizes

Okay, I am going to need a chip to fix my spedo, I am planing on getting 4.56 gears and 36" tires, the question I have is, I am also going to be using a set of 34.5" tires in the winter. What should I do to make my spedo work right? Also can I get a chip that will do all that and not have to run premium? Thanks.

Hi Christrucker,

Yes, this can be done.

Since you need custom programming done to correct your speedometer anyway, the smart way to do this is in the 2-program Superchip Flip Chip, as the manufacturer includes the cost of any custom programming needed at time of purchase in the Flip Chip, so you'll come out a little bit cheaper that way compared to having a custom program done in the single-program Superchip. And since you want added flexibility in the fuel you want to run, that's a *perfect* application for the Flip Chip, that a number of others here are doing too.

When we're doing custom programming in the Flip Chip, we can set it up for any octane level you desire, within reason. What a number of F-150 owners are doing these days is to have us set the Flip Chip up with one program for use with regular gas, and then the other being our normal performance program that requries premium gas. That way, when you want increased engine power, you run it on the premium gas program, and when you don't, just run it on the regular gas side by flipping the attached switch.

The way we do that is to make all of our normal mods to both programs, so that they are basically identical save for the fact that on one "side", the engine will be tuned for regular gas, and in the other program it's tuned for premium. That way, you still get all the other benefits, such as improved shifting in the automatics, top speed limiter removal in most of these vehicles, etc., no matter which program you're running on. Then when you want maximum power, fill it up with premium and flip the switch.

Just give us a call at our number below, and we'll be happy to go over all of the details, etc. with you, so you can give it some thought.

By the way, congratulations on the new truck!
