FLIP CHIP= MUCH BETTER MPG
I installed a Flip Chip in 98 F-150, the result was really cool. With better performance, throttle response, shifting all that and 3mpg's. My mileage is very carefully watched and I got 14.3MPG's.
I also have K/N filtercharger
Dual flowmaster exhaust
Soon New drive Pulleys
If anyone has a suggestion on pulleys let me know.

Those are excellent results! Getting an increase of 3.0 more mpg's is a bit higher gain that average, but of course it takes lower and higher numbers to make up that average.

It's the Superchip Flip Chip, and it comes from us.
It's just like the standard Superchip, except it's basically 2 chips in one, and gives you the ability to select which program you're running on by flipping the attached switch.
The way he has it set up, like a number of other F-150 owners have had us do for them, is with one program for regular gas, and the other is our normal performance program for premium gas. We set them up to be identical with the sole exception of on one side of the Flip Chip, the engine is tuned for 87 octane, while the other side has the engine tuned for premium gas. Now of course the real power gains & any potential mileage increase will only happen when running on the premium gas program, but thanks to both programs being virtually identical, you still get all the other benefits in both programs. So no matter which program you're running on, you'll still have the improved automatic transmission shifting, and all the other benefits. Then when you want maximum power, you fill it up with premium and flip the switch!

You used to get 11.3 before the chip? That would bite! I went from 12.63 before chip to 12.93 after. Not as much of a gain as some guys but I love the better shifting and throttle control.
