Thumbs down Citgo 92 or Amoco 93

I'm about ready to order the Superchip and was wondering which premium gas should I fill up with - Citgo 92 or Amoco 93? Does it really matter which octane as long as it is 92 or better. It seems most people use 93.

I have stuck with Amoco 93 and have had no problems at all. Truck seems to love this stuff.

Either fuel brand you listed will be just fine.

Hi djbogue,

In most areas of the country, Amoco and Citgo are usually excellent gasolines, with Citgo being the cheaper of the 2. You should do just fine with either one; my first choice among those 2 brands would be Amoco, but Citgo should be fine too.

Here in Virginia, we've been using mostly Citgo for the majority of the past 5-6 years, with excellent results.

Do let us know how those brands work out for you, & good luck!

Here in S. Florida, Citgo 93 sucks a$$ compared to Texaco. Since day one, I used Citgo 93 and thought it was ok til I was forced (or start pushing) to fill up at a Texaco. About 15 miles after the fill up, it was like the truck swallowed steroids. WOW did it ever wake up. Felt like I just added 20 HP with a gas change. Now I know that probably isn't the case, but it made a world of difference.

I haven't tried Amoco yet, but I know from growing up and racing just about everything that has wheels they are on top with Texaco.

I found Amoco to be the best so far (here in North jersey) Texaco makes my engine ping a little at partial throttle..

I also noticed a diffrence in power with Amoco.. seems to agree with my truck the best
