Hey Mike I Need Your Help

Hey Mike I have been told to come talk to you about fixing my truck. I have a 1999 F-150 4.6L and it has 141,000 miles and it needs help with power and gas mileage. I was thinking about exhaust chip and FIPK but I wanted to see what you think will be beneficial to my engine. I also heard something about an ignition upgrade, could you possibly explain a little about that? Thanks a ton for any help and info you can give

hondaman,

Mike may be tied-up with a big event this weekend. I'm sure he'll chime in when he gets a chance. In the meantime here's the info:

OR, just use the search option at the top of the page, perhaps look for Mike Troyer and I'm sure any question you could possibly imagine/ask has already been asked and answered more than once.

I have a Fipkit and exhaust and they improved my MPG (no matter how I drive) from 11.7 to 13.6 - 14.2 mpg. So that's that for you. The chip might help you a bit more with MPG and performance.

IF i were you, i would go with both chip and intake, but Get exhuast, Fipkit, THEN Chip for best results.

good luck

remember, you don't have a race car there, not many of us do, so any performance isn't going to compare to a supercharger. Don't set your expectations too high and that way you will be pleasantly surprised.

I notice NO difference in seat of the pants performance with my fipkit and exhuast, just slower that it is slower at WOT going 75+ mph. Yes, slower, HOWEVER, the sound of exhuast is awsome, the feel of the Navigator is better, MPG is better and it's a hell of a lot funner to drive.

For one, it doesn't feel restricted and by no means do I regret the 500 $ spent on these 2 bolt ons.
