Talking Got my new superchip installed

jUST INSTALLED MY NEW SUPERCHIP AND I ALREADY LIKE IT AFTER PART OF A DAY DRIVING STILL WITH REGULAR fuel. I can now feel more power in the wheels and better shifting. As an added bonus it also cleared up a bit of rough idle that i had had. Looks good so far. I would have to recommend this to everyone.

Hi jbrac,

Glad to hear you're enjoying your new Superchip!

As Talleywhacker mentioned in his response, and as you already know anyway I'm sure, the single-program Superchip is designed to operate on premium gas only, so the power gain on regular gas is only about a handful of horsepwoer at best. Since you didn't mention getting any detonation (pinging) on regular, the knock sensor system in your vehicle must have just enough effective adjustment range so it can pull out enough spark advance so you don't get any pinging. That's really a matter of luck, as many of these trucks will ping if you don't use premium with the Superchip.

Very interesting comment you made with regards to the idle smoothness being improved, we hear that quite a bit. The changes to the fuel curves in setting them up for premium fuel do tend to promote a bit smoother idle in many cases as a by-product. I'm glad to hear you're noticing that too.

Have fun!
