I was just wondering how often you guys disconnect the battery and have the computer/chip "relearn" everything?

Hi Way,
(I just love saying that
)
Haven't seen you around for awhile, nice to see you drop back by! Hope your Holidays are going well.
I can only tell you what we do, and we only do a battery disconnect to clear the computer if we change the computer's program (installing or removing a Superchip), or if we install a new performance part, or if we are doing some informal mileage testing of various gasoline brands.
Some people will also do a re-set if they take their daily driver to the drag strip on the weekend, just as a technique to wipe out any effects of Ford's adaptive strategy in a daily driver that is usually driven conservatively. In those circumstances, you can sometimes pick up a tenth or two on the first couple of passes you run compared to what you would have run if you didn't do the dis-connect. I didn't clear mine the last time I went to the drag-strip, and I should have I suppose, just to see if it would have made any difference for me in that particular vehicle, as that car is usually driven conservatively.
In terms of just doing a disconnect just for the heck of it every so often, without making any kind of modification, not doing any testing, etc., we never do that, if that is what you're asking.
