Bought one of the first 1715s with the 87 Octane Program Question
Are there any updates to the 1715 after it first came out with the 87 Octane program?
I notice a couple of things and was hoping that this could be the programming.

Hello phurley,
What you have *is* the current unit. It has not been "updated" since the release of the 3-tune version last September, and will not be "updated" (with the sole exception of adding any more new dealer reflash computer codes released by Ford) in the future, as there is no need. The tuning R&D was completed *long* ago.
Now the *original* single-program 1715's can be updated to the 3-program version you have by the manufacturer, for a fee - but those 3-program 1715's are not going to get "updates" - the R&D was completed long ago.
The 1715 is not like a chip, and it cannot used for a "custom" tuning application. It is the "standard" Superchips tuning that is designed for stock to very mildly modified vehicles that are well maintained.
Anyone that wants custom tuning or any "change" from what's in the 1715 will need to specifically purchase custom tuning, in the appropriate product, like the 9100 custom tune-capable version of Micro Tuner, or the 6600 multi-program custom chip - but not a 1715.
I don't know if this will be of any help to you, but I'll go ahead and give you a link to our site where you can look at the appropriate custom tune-capable products (actually, this link will show you *all* the various FoMoCo Superchips tuning products) - once you are there, you'll want to read up on our Part# 6600 (the 4-program 4-bank custom chip) or the 9100 (the 3-program 4-bank custom Micro Tuner) - here's the link: http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...chips%3BFoMoCo
Now with either of those multi-program custom products (the #6600 or the #9100), you get our custom tuning, set up any way you like. The power and performance gains from our custom tuning are significantly more than what you get in the 1715, and of course, that custom tuning is more expensive than the 1715.
If you suspect that you are having a "problem" caused by the 1715 (which is highly unlikely - they don't cause problems in properly maintained vehicles, generally speaking), you can always call the manufacturer directly and speak to them about it. If it was purchased directly from us here at Performance Products, Inc (DBA Troyer Performance), then you could also call us to go over whatever it is you are experiencing, to see if it's possible for that to be a "tuning-induced" problem.
That's about all I can tell you here - you can always give Superchips a call directly at the number in your Micro Tuner's documentation for further assistance, and good luck!
