04 HEMI programmer soon to be available...

My buddy has an 04 HEMI and word is that their programmer is going to be available in 3 to 4 weeks. Actually, they are taking pre-orders for it.

I know the 03 HEMI came out a few weeks ago.

I just wonder why it is taking so long on the 04 F-150, which keeps getting pushed back, and back, and back, and back.

Actually, it seems ALL the performance parts are taking a long time or they are having problems with add-ons with this new body style and have to recall them.

The 04 programmer for the hemi is a completely different beast then the 03 programmer. I have heard things like later 04, early 05, 3-4 weeks is wishful thinking.

Please don't be offended, but I do have to point out the obvious, which is this is a FORD web site - not a Dodge or Mopar web site. So discussions about Hemi tuning generally aren't very appropriate here on F-150 Online.

OK, with that out of the way.......................

The actual reality is the 2004 Hemi Superchips tuning won't be available any time soon - somebody may be confused perhaps, but at any rate, that is incorrect information.

The Hemi's & 4.7 Mopar V8's take a *LOT* of R&D, reverse engineering, etc. - more so than most applications, and that is why it takes so much longer. Remember, the 2003 Hemi Superchips tuning was just released!

Don't expect 2004 Hemi Superchips tuning this calender year, as that may not happen - it's more likely going to be coming out in calender 2005, we'll just have to see how the R&D goes.

HELLBOUND.. I, for one, love information on all vehicles. my brother has an 04 hemi and we were talking about this the other day. imight be wrong but i think the drive-by-wire is a big road block

the first automobile was built for transportation, the second one was built to out run the first one.

Well, I am hanging with the HEMI pretty well with my current set-up. Actually, I am beating my buddies HEMI at the track, but he has 3.55 gears, Reg. Cab, Short Bed 4x2. I have raced the same model with 3.92's and got beat but not too bad.

I am getting the tuner, fan kit, intake, pulleys and 4.10 gears. I currenty have 3.73LS now with a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust. I also have a Reg Cab Short Bed 4x2 with the 5.4L. So, I think just with the chip, a HEMI with a 3.92 rear end doesnt stand a chance.
