F-Mod chip a hoax!
OK everyone,
As was just recently posted in the "Engine" section of the message boards here, in the thread titled "New Ford Product", the fellow who put up that web site admitted that it was a complete hoax, he was playing a practical joke on his friend. He logged on under a new account, and called himself "SomeGuy001", and listed the URL for that site as his homepage.
We had already checked with Ford, with Car & Driver, and everyone else mentioned in the article, and found absolutely nothing, so we felt it hads to be a hoax, and of course we knew that those kinds of power gains could not be made. The idea of calling it a "Warren computer" just cracked me up, as the article claimed that Ford was using their "onboard Warren computer" to hold the power of the 5.4 artificially low for all this time.
So everyone can calm back down.
