What kind of increase has every one been getting? I just made a trip from TX to IA and I pulled down 22 on the way there and 21 on the way back.. What a shock was only getting 17 to 18.... DAVID
I have a very interesting situation...
I vacation in Northern Wisconsin where they have pure gas (no ethanol). On the way up got 14.6 mpg (Illinois reformulated petro). On the way back got 15.9 mpg.
I am still in the break-in stages of the truck but expect this to improve gradually through 5K Miles.
I currently have 1500 miles on the truck.
Cheers

Hi David98,
If you mean, what kind of increase in gas mileage are people getting from installing the Superchip, I can tell you what gets reported back to us from other F-150 Online participants using the Superchip....
Most people with V-8 automatic F-150's report back with gains of 1.5 to 2.0 more mpg, on average. There have been some who have reported back gains of as much as 3.5-4.0 more mpg, but that's at the very top end of the "results scale", so to speak.
Manual-transmission F-150's pick up more, they report back with gains of anywhere from 2.0 to as much as 3.5 more mpg.
It will of course depend on how you drive, the overall load on the vehicle, and even the energy content of the gasoline being used, they will all affect the mileage. For example in "G-Money's" post to you here in this thread, he reported that he got considerably less mileage when he used that gasahol blend as comparted to pure gasoline, and that will always happen, as the alcohol part of that fuel has about half the relative energy value of gasoline by comparison.
Going from 17-18 to 21-22 is certainly possible, though it is a larger than the "average" gain, that's what averages do for you, they're just averages of everyone's numbers. So there are people getting no mileage gain due to their load & fuel quality, and there are people getting 3.5-4.0 more mpg roughly, like you seem to be so far.
Good luck!

Yes mike my milage did jump to 22 going there and 21 coming back loaded up. City milage hasnt jumped much, but think that is due to my right foot. I have been more impressed with the shifting of the trany now.
Low end is a lot more snapy now. thanks DAVID

Hey david98, I just made a round trip from central Ohio to Corsicana, Texas and back, got over 21 miles per gallon. I use to get around 18. Gaining 3 miles or more per gallon adds up in 2200 miles driving. Billy 12 string, '98 F150 XLT Supercab 4.2L V-6, 5-spd. Superchip, K&N filtercharger, bugflector, Delta toolbox.
HI Billy,
Great post, when you're on a long trip like that, where you're driving thousands of miles cruising on the highway, it's not surprising that you are seeing a 3.0 mpg increase with the Superchip, as those are optimal conditions for mileage.
Excellent results!
