Chip without premium gas bill?
I have a 2k F-150 with a 4.6 AOD-E rg/cb lg/bd and I just put in 3.73's ,a lockrite diff., 255-70/R16 and a flowmaster fource II dual side exit exhaust . I love the gears and the diff is just great even though the exhaust could be throatier . Now can I get a super chip that corrects my speedo and uses the gears and exhaust properly without going to the expense of requiring premium fuel .I plan on a cold air intake within the next month or two . Guess I'm getting to practical in my old age :-)33 and want more reliability than power . I've had some very powerful cars and now just like to dust the stock trucks .
Beside I just bought a 70 mustang coupe with scj heads on a 460 backed by a C-6 and nine inch rear to play with .

Hi leo,
Well, any performance chip is going to *require* the use of premium gas, that's how the power gains are achieved, by programming specifically for premium gas. We could do a 2-program Flip Chip for you with one side of it set for regular gas, and then the other would be our normal performance program for premium gas, that's teh only way we will do a Superhcip for regular gas, since there is no power gain to be had on regular gas via powertrain programming. The really nice thing about the Flip Chip in your case is that it includes the cost of any custom programming you may need (like your speedo recal.), whereas the normal single-program Superchip incurs an additional $125 custom programming fee, so the Flip Chip is perfect for this type of application, and more cost-effective as well. With regards to being able to correct your speedometer, there are a few codes we can do that on in these new vehicles, so what you'll need to do is to check your vehicle's computer code, and give us that info, and then I can check to see if that code is one we've already got the speedo correction R&D done on yet.
To find your computer code, simply open your passenger door, and then look in the front part of the door frame, in the general area of the door hinges, and you'll see a white sticker with 3 letters and 1 number on it, and that is your computer code!
Once you've got the code, give us a shout with that info by email or phone, our contact info is just below, and we'll be happy to go over all the exact details with you.
There really aren't any changes needed with regards to your exhaust changes as far as your powertrain program is concerned, things like K&N air filters, FIPK kits & exhaust changes are already handled very well by the MAF system & O2 sensors. You do have other issues though, which we should go over when you get a chance to check your code & call us.
