Mike and his Superchips
Short Story:
You're probably tired of reading about Superchips and Mike Troyer, but I had to give him props.
I have been in the business world for over 15 years now and own a successful pharmaceutical wholesale company in California. I am on the phone every day with vendors and other distributors and buy products off the internet almost daily. I can honestly say I have never had a better experience with a more knowledgable salesman
than Mike and his Superchips dealership. Not only was he very thorough and took his time explaining everything involved in installing and using the chip, but also he called back when the chip was available and delivered the product in the day he said it would arrive.
After installing a Superchip today in my SCrew 4x4 Lariat, I can say it is all it was cracked up to be and more. It took about an hour to install in the rain, moving slow and after removing the battery and battery tray. They could be getting a lot more for this custom chip and why anyone wouldn't install one in their truck or Expedition is beyond me. It works all the time at any throttle level and makes the truck act like a truck should act. I was looking for more power/performance and tighter connection from my foot to the pavement and have found it in this chip.
Way to go Mike and thanks again for the Chip and your professionalism.

PS. If you own an F150 and haven't installed a Superchip, call now because you're wasting your time reading this post when you could be out having fun again driving your "new" truck.

Hi Dubin,
Wow, that was quite a post, & thanks very much for your kind words, to say the least.
The Superchip is the single-best bang-for-the-buck power-gainer available today short of nitrous, and that's why it's so popular.
I'm of course delighted that you're enjoying your Superchip & thanks for your praise, we will endeavor to continue to earn your trust, as well as the trust of, hopefully, everyone we deal with.
Have fun,

Mike is a great guy, and knows his stuff.
As for why anyone wouldn't want to install a superchip:
1. Requires premium fuel.
2. May (or may not, depending on who you believe) cause premature failure of the 4R70W transmission.
3. Some folks may actually enjoy they way the truck runs.
I got the 5.4 motor so I would not need to "improve" the performance to get what I want out of a truck.
You should have gotten a Lightning if you want a "fast" truck.

I have read all about the 'chip and agree that it is a good mod for many people and a great bang-for-the-buck, but the reason I cannot bring myself to purchase one is because all I really want is improved trans. characteristics and I think the 'chip is a little pricey just to fix that.

I would have a trusted transmission shop install a Trans-Go kit.
Inexpensive, and it re-calibrates the transmission, for quicker, not harder, shifts.

You're right, there ARE people who like the feel of the stock truck without the Superchip.
You know, my wife and her girlfriends did like the way the truck drove when they were on their way to the beauty shop.
Get real. Who wouldn't want more power, improved mileage and an improved shift sequence?
With the stock 5.4, you can tell the engine has more to give. Since the upgrade now whether off-roading or towing a ski boat, the difference is noticable.
I never said I was not looking for a "fast" truck, just a better truck.

2001 Screw 4x4 Lariat, Deep Wedgewood Blue, All Options with NO TWO TONE PAINT, CD/tape dual-media deck with 6 disk changer, sunroof etc.
Others: Superchip, Airforce One, V1 Radar Detector hard-wired, Rhino Lining, front tinted windows.
On the way...better speakers, bigger tires.
