1/4 mile times
I got the chance to run twice last night on the track. It was about 90 degrees with high humidity also. My first run was 16.057 at 83mph and the second was 15.889. To compare a 2000 chevy with the 5.3L and 285HP ran 16.298. As I left the track I raced a 2001 Chevy Regular Cab with the 5.3L engine and we stayed even to about 75mph and he let off. I have a supercab so he had a weight advantage, but all in all I was satisfied, but may be looking for additional mods in the near future.

Hi Mikey,
Sounds like some good times, getting well into the 15's, and I was especially glad to see you nailed those 5.3 Chevy's!

Hi "just me",
They aren't posted anywhere for public display, that is the figure, as was observed on the Superchips eddy current chassis dyno. I simply passed that information along to "Mikey" for a rough comparison with regards to the vehicle he ran up against in his post.
Do you have any *hands-on* chassis dyno experience? I ask simply because if so, then you already know that there are always going to be variances based on current conditions in the dyno test cell, everything from temperature to barometric pressure, elevation, coolant temp, tranny fluid temps, etc. etc. Superchips just recently finished the dyno work on that motor, and that was the observed rear-wheel peak torque figure on that pull, in 3rd gear (1:1), @ 3800 rpm, on the 2000 5.3 motor.

Hi Mikey,
We've recently finished the dyno work on those new GM 5.3 motors, and just to give you an idea, stock they make about 318 lbs./ft. of torque at the rear wheels, so it sounds like you ran *very* well against that 5.3 on the street!

HI!... Mikey88 : I ran a 14.72 E.T at MILAN DRAGWAY last night!! Witha 93 mph trap speed. I was faster than a "93" and "95" 1ST GEN LIGHTNINGS that were there. They had a lot of mods done to them as well. They both seemed surprised on how fast I was running NATURALLY ASPERATED!lol! I LOVE IT!lol!
