The Power Programmer can only be used on one vehicle, as when you upload it's program into the truck's computer, it then stores the original factory program in the Power Programmer, so at that point it only has your original factory program in it, so that won't work from that standpoint. They're also generally tied to the VIN number of the vehicle as well. In other words, you can't buy just one PPIII and have it work on both vehicles at the same time.

As far as which one works better, adding more power and improving overall driveability the best, it's the Superchip hands down, but then of course I'm going to say that. . The Superchip adds more total power, and it adds power at *all* throttle positions, whereas the Hypertech unit only adds power on full-throttle. Also, with the Hypertech units you are generally required to run a special abnormally cold thermostat, which you don't need to use with the Superchip, nor do we recommend the use of colder thermostats. Your factory thermostat is 192-194 degress, right where your engine makes it's best power.

The Superchip is made specifically for each individual vehicle, whereas the PPIII unit has only one program for all similar vehicles. Because the Superchip is programmed for the exact software revision in each individual vehicle, you get a program that was made specifically for *your* vehicle, instead of one that has been compromised to run on all similar vehicles. This is a *big* difference, and it allows us to program much more thoroughly and effectively, changing many more areas to improve driveability and power.

If your trucks are automatic models, you will love what the Superchip does for the overall shift characteristics at all throttle positions as well, as it removes upshift and downshift delays, transitional spark retards, and other functions that other chipmakers do not or can not do.

In addition, the Superchip is considerably less expensive than the Power Programmer unit. You could put Superchips on both your vehicles for not much more than the cost of just one Power Programmer, and get better results as well.
