Question Mike T. ; Would like your input

Hey Mike,

I would like your input on a topic in the Other Drivetrain forum. "4.10's are in like a hair in a biscut."

Thanks much!

If you would like a specific question answered, the best thing to do is to shoot us an email, or just ask it.

I did drop by, and there isn't any question or debate there that I can see, so if you have a specific question, ask it.

If your question is about any changes need to your chip for the 4.10 gears, no, there isn't in your case though there normally would be, as you have already taken care of the speedo recalibration, which can be done up thru and including the 1998 model year in these Fords, and you already have a Superchip. Since you have the custom Superchip, it already provides for more "headroom" between the WOT upshift point and the actual rev limiter, so you don't "bounce off" the rev limiter due to the engine gaining rpms in 1st gear more quickly and the transmission doesn't have enough time to complete it's upshift before the engine reaches the rev limiter.

So there is nothing more to be done, you're all set!

Good luck & have fun,
