hopefully last question
I am resetting my computer now. this maybe a stupid question but are my headlights supposed to be on or in the "on position". Please lemme know asap. Thanks again.
Hi Split,
When people are installing their Superchips, or other go-fast parts, we suggest disconnecting the battery to clear the computers memory and allow a fresh program load with the new parts.
Our "technique" for doing this is simple: disconnect the negative battery lead, and then pull the headlights on for about 5 minutes. This will drain all residual voltage from the IC's & capacitors in the computer. After 5 minutes, shut off the headlights and re-connect your battery, and you're all set! This will not drain the battery, by the way, as remember the first thing we did was to disconnect it.
Good luck!

I disconnected mine (for my current truck) and turned the headlights on for about 20 minutes. I expected to have to reset the radio..etc..and I discovered I did not. I think it did completely drain the computer though.
I did the same thing for my previous F-150..and everything had to be reset.
Go figure.
